One of my favorite artists of the year, you may have heard her on the summer hit with Icona Pop- I Love it. I have been enamored with Charli for a while now, not only does the 21 year write her own music, her music takes all forms of genres. She flows over rock music, hip hop tracks, funky pop beats, Synthpop, and indietronica. Not to mention, she has a great voice. Hope this song adds to fun to your day.
Here’s a smooth way to start your weekend, this is a new cut from underground Nu-Disco producer -Oxford. If you listen closely, you can hear the sampling from Cassie’s 2006 hit “Me and You“, you’ve got to love the quick change in grammar. hope you all enjoy!
Now who doesn’t love a good Lana Del Ray remix? I know i do. There are so many weak and mediocre remixes of her songs, I have only found a few remixes that really make her voice standout. I mean her voice does really standout, but i believe what stands out more is her hipster/pinup style. With certain remixes, (especially this extremely dark remix), her style isn’t standout aspect of the song. Monsieur Adi masterfully incorporates heavy strings and light drums to evoke a eerily cold feeling. For best results….Listen in dark or at least when the sun goes down. What do you think? One of the best remixes every heard?
My best friend and I, every week on Saturday evenings, present the new music we find every week. At first we would just admire each others music whenever we got into each others car. After years, it sort of morphed into a fun rivalry. This week, he took the cake with these finds. Tell me what do you think?
Little Dragon is one of my favorite electronic soul bands out right now. Their recent song, “Sunshine” was produced in collaboration with Absolute Vodka. Although been around for over 5 years, the band gained a lot of buzz by doing work with heavy hitters in electro music such as the gorillaz, SBTRKT and even DJ Shadow in the recent years. There is a nice soothing sound to their music . The lead singer, Yukimi Nagano has a soulful but pop sounding voice. The songs that the band makes can be radio friendly yet still something that backpackers can deem a diamond in the rough.
Been trying to post this for days, This is a cover of the a hit 90s song performed by soul group BrownStone. Japanese producer Duo BenZel and British powerhouse singer Jessie Ware add a new age feel and electronic sound to a once extremely popular song. Produced by Kate Moross, the video takes place on a NYC subway and has some risque visuals. The song almost gives the video further depth, which in turn, makes the song more emotional. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do !
